Craigslist is one of the most well know advertising websites out there, providing services to more than 700 cities in 70 countries. It is a platform that serves millions of people worldwide with services such as Job Postings, discussion forums, and housing, just to name a few.
In this case study, we will focus on the redesign and improvement of the Craigslist website, which will be discussed later on in detail.
Overview

SEMAC Design Group
Overview
SEMAC Design Group is an architecture and interior design studio serving the tri-state area. While the firm delivered high-quality architectural work, it lacked a structured digital presence to communicate its services, showcase its portfolio, and support growth beyond referrals.
The goal was to design a clear, professional website that translated the firm’s spatial and detail-driven approach into a cohesive digital experience.
Role
As the sole UI/UX designer, I led the project from discovery through launch, aligning with stakeholders, defining the information architecture, designing wireframes and high-fidelity interfaces, and ensuring a cohesive, responsive implementation in Wix Studio.

The Problem
A digital presence was needed to accurately represent the quality and scope of SEMAC Design Group’s architectural and interior design work. While the firm produced well-crafted projects, there was no dedicated website to showcase their portfolio, explain services, or establish a clear professional presence online. This situation made it difficult for potential clients to quickly understand the firm’s expertise or evaluate their work beyond word-of-mouth referrals.
The Solution
Keeping these challenges in mind, a clean and structured website was designed to establish a professional digital presence for SEMAC Design Group, focusing on:
-
Showcasing the firm’s portfolio in a considered way, allowing the architectural work to remain the primary focus
-
Providing a clear structure for services and navigation, helping potential clients quickly understand the firm’s areas of expertise
-
Translating the firm’s architectural approach into a cohesive visual language through typography, spacing, and layout
-
Delivering an accessible and professional online experience that supports credibility and improves discoverability
Services

To ground the project in the firm’s goals and constraints, I worked closely with SEMAC Design Group’s founders throughout the process. Early conversations focused on understanding the firm’s services, the type of clients they wanted to attract, and how they envisioned presenting their work online.
These discussions helped clarify priorities such as keeping the site simple and adaptable, emphasizing portfolio work, and ensuring the design could evolve as the firm grew.
